Yokibu Project

Yokibu is a website founded by Rtn. Chandru. It is an information portal aimed at parents of school going children.

On Sunday the 21st five annets of our club attended the first phase of a project initiated by Yokibu. Sanajana, Shradha,Nomita, Pallavi,Ananya &Priyanka particiated in the project Yokibu plans to create a website for school students and the project was conducted to get feedback and our views about the website.

In the first meeting the annets discussed enthusiastically about what they would want for a children’s website and what would make it interesting for them. The annets were bubbling with many ideas. The website proposed is for children and thus it made it even more interesting as it would be a place for us not to put a lid on our ideas and just freely come out with our creativity.

Most of us are hoping that our ideas will actually come in the website. We are hoping that more annets will join us in the next session to help them

Project Raksha

The Annets Club are proud to announce the 4th project for the year. Project Raksha is a project that is, I am sure, close to all our hearts. It is a project that inspires the young and old together to fight for the freedom of the labouring child, for liberating those mothers who watch their children losing the fruit of childhood.

Yes, Project Raksha is nothing but The Rotary Club of Chennai Towers’ collective effort to increase the awareness and play our significant part in reducing Domestic Child Labour. This project is to be held on the 24th of October 2010 at 6:50 am sharp from the Light House to the Labour Statue.

Planting Samplings by Annets

The Annets of our club have successfully conducted planting of 30 Saplings and Shrubs at The Porur Govt Girls school yesterday. 28 of us including Rotarians and Anns attended. The highlight was Shoba Menon herself participating in the project and guiding our Annets.

It was heartening to see them run around with shovels, water cans and getting their hands dirty by planting the saplings. The enthusiasm of the Annets and the superb planning and execution was thanks to Ann Shoba who was in charge of the Project. The students and Faculty of The school also joined us and were seen picking up plastic from around the area. This was followed by Breakfast at my residence.

Kudos to Annets Club , President Sagar and his team. Now time to get set for the Rally on Sunday 24th Oct at 7.00 A.M.The details will be sent by Sagar. The Annets have already started making placards and compiling slogans. We need the participation of every Annet of our club.
